Obtain a minimum passing score to qualify for the exam.

Yes, It’s necessary to attend the 2 days training in order to qualify for the exam.
SAFe Scrum Master Exam
The SAFe Scrum Master exam is a Multiple choice, Multiple select exam consisting of 45 questions and having a duration of 90 minutes
The SSM 4 exam has a pass percentage of 73% ( 33 correct answers out of 45) and SSM 5 has a pass percentage of 75%(35 correct answers out of 45).
If one fails their SSM exam they can retake the exam multiple times by paying a fee of $50 for each attempt.
You can take any number of attempts to pass the SAFe Scrum Master exam; where the 2nd exam can be attempted immediately, the 3rd attempt requires a 10-days wait and the 4th attempt requires one to wait for 30-days.
